A tidy project, without the dragging.
One-Click Sort is a panel inside Premiere Pro. Here is everything it does, and what it will never do.
- 1 · Sort
See it first. Then apply.
Press Sort and choose the whole project or just your selection. Before anything moves, you get a preview: how many items it checked, how many it will sort, and how many it is unsure about. Open any group to see each item and the reason for its bin, like “camera file name” or “audio, under 10 seconds”.
Items it is not sure about go to one review bin, so nothing lands somewhere silly. Press Apply when you are happy.
- 2 · Review
Teach it once
For each unsure item you can accept the suggestion, choose any bin, or leave it where it is. Choose Assign and remember and next time, files like that go to the same place without asking.
You can also write your own rules in Settings, such as “names containing drone go to B-roll”. Your rules always come before its own guesses.
- 3 · Undo
Twenty steps back
Every sort, move and merge goes into Undo. It keeps your last 20 actions for each project, so trying it on a real project is safe. Undo never locks, even after a trial ends.
- 4 · Auto-sort
Imports find their own bin
Switch on Auto-sort and files you import mid-edit go to the right bin as they arrive. You can choose whether it also checks imports that you dropped into a bin yourself.
- 5 · Watch folder
Drop files in. Done.
Pick a folder on your computer. New media that lands there is imported and sorted for you. It waits until files have finished copying, skips partial downloads and temporary files, and ignores anything already in the project.
Each project keeps its own folder, and the panel switches folders when you switch projects.
- 6 · Health check
Find problems before the client does
Offline media: labels the items, can add markers where they are used, and saves a CSV list. Duplicates: park copies in a
99_DUPLICATESbin, or merge them after a dated project copy is saved. Names: suggests better names; only the names inside your project change. - 7 · Settings
Make it yours
Choose Essential, Standard or Production. Create every bin up front, or only the ones you need. Keep or remove empty bins. Keep your rules for one project or use them everywhere. Diagnostics builds a report you can email to support.
What it never does
It never deletes media files and never changes anything on your drives. The only file it ever writes is the dated project copy it makes before a merge.
